The meeting was also attended by Board Member of the Zanzibar Association of Oil and Gas Service Providers (ZAOGS), Government and members of the private sector delegates which accompanied Her Excellency Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania to a 3-day state visit to Muscat at the invitation of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
Speaking to OPAL Board members and management, Chairman Abdulsamad reaffirmed the keenness and readiness of ATOGS to implementing the Memorandum of Understating (MoU) to enhance economic ties based on historic and deep-rooted relations. Both parties agreed to immediately enhance Cooperation by organizing LNG site visit, organise workshops, forums and seminars as an added value for its members in the fields Technical and Training, sharing local experiences, and facilitating the transfer of knowledge and expertise in the fields of the oil and gas industry.
The meeting was concluded by key set milestones including OPAL to send delegation to Tanzania in August during the Tanzania Energy Congress on the 3rd August 2022, but also will assist in providing Scholarship Trainings on Audit, training in Human Capital and Health & Safety in the Oil & Gas.
Tanzania delegation led by Chairman Abdulsamad Abdulrahim is schedule to pay a crucial site visit to the Liquefied Natural Gas (Oman LNG) plant in Qalhat near Sur, Oman.
There were also exchange of gifts from ATOGS Chairman and OPAL CEO as a sign of good faith, welcoming partnerships and tangible collaboration.
